Christmas

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, but I have to admit: I really love Christmas. Especially living in our own place, with our own decorations and traditions and tree. (If you remember last year's Christmas post, then you remember that the tree was not a highlight. This year was much better.)

Instead of trying to find a tree that we could cut down ourselves, we opted for a much closer lot that we could go to after work one day. It was set up on a putt-putt course and had beautiful lights and trees everywhere - you could just wander around the course till you found one you liked, then you had to tell staff what hole it was on!

Logan carries the tree in and holds it while I attach the stand, and my job is to string up the lights. I love it and it makes me incredibly happy to do it.

Because we go back to Virginia for Christmas Day, we celebrate our Christmas early. This year we did it on the 18th and our tree ended up looking beautiful.

One of my favorite things we do is get an ornament to commemorate each year we've spent Christmas together just the two of us. After an adventure-packed year, this one seemed only appropriate.
