HIKES

Chautauqua Trail

Chautauqua Trail to Ski Jump Trail
Trailhead: Chaitauqua Trail
Distance: 1.55 miles (easy)

It's Memorial Day weekend and I finally got out to explore Boulder and the Flatirons and go on my first solo hike!

I was so excited to solo hike, it was so calming and refreshing and relaxing. There were some larger sections of trail that I didn't see anyone else on and it was blissfully quiet. But at the same time it felt like something was missing; part of what I love about hiking is getting to share these incredible places with Logan. When I got to a fork in the trail I didn't want to pick any of the directions that would lead to "cool" destinations, I wanted to save those for hiking with Logan. So while it was relaxing and filled me with the best kind of endorphins, im going to save any remaining solo hikes for places Logan and I have already done together.

I walked the length of the Chautauqua Trail (0.6 miles) and then connected to the Ski Jump Trail via the Bluebird-Baird Trail. It was short and simple and utterly gorgeous.
