Palmer Lake Reservoir
Palmer Lake Reservoir Trail
Trailhead: Palmer Lake Reservoir
Distance: 4.1 miles (easy)
Have you ever heard of women hiking groups? I joined three (Women Who Hike, Girls Who Hike, and Mtn Chicks) a few months ago. It's been a game changer, to say the least. To have a community that supports me and gets me is incredible. In August, I joined Girls Who Hike on a group hike in Colorado Springs! There were three of us total, and it was a blast. At first I was super nervous, but once we were on the trail it felt natural. We all chatted and made small talk; the two girls I was with had both recently moved to Colorado (one of them 3 days before the hike!) and we laughed about how brutal the altitude is.
We talked about what hikes were on our bucket lists, the struggles of getting backpacking permits, and what Red Rocks shows we were going to go to next.
The lake was so gorgeous and there was no one else around, so we hung out by some rocks for a while before deciding it was time to head back. All in all, it was a great trail and a good morning hike. I was home before Logan had even woken up!
